Introduced in 1957, the Jaguar XK 150 represents the culmination of the XK lineage, which began in 1948 with the XK 120. Initially offered as a coupé and a drophead coupé, the roadster version, particularly anticipated by open-top driving enthusiasts, did not arrive until March 1958. More sophisticated than its predecessors, the XK 150 benefited from significant technical developments, most notably four-wheel disc brakes, an innovation that was still rare at the time. Combined with the smooth delivery of its inline-six engine and a proven chassis, these features endowed the car with remarkable driving qualities, equally suited to winding country roads and long-distance touring. As the final representative of this prestigious lineage before the arrival of the legendary E-Type in 1961, the XK 150 embodies a pivotal period in Jaguar’s history, when sporting performance, elegance and comfort came together with remarkable harmony.
The example we are pleased to offer has undergone a complete, body-off restoration, carried out down to the chassis in our own workshops. The bodywork was entirely dismantled and treated, while the mechanical components were comprehensively rebuilt. A photographic record documenting the various stages of the restoration is available, allowing the work undertaken to be fully appreciated. The car is also accompanied by its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, providing documentation of its original historical details. To combine authenticity with enhanced usability, this XK 150 has also benefited from several technical upgrades, including an aluminium radiator, an electric cooling fan, electronic ignition and an alternator.
The interior has been completely renewed, with particular attention paid to the selection of materials. The bespoke bucket seats are upholstered in full-grain green leather, which harmonises beautifully with the Aston Martin green exterior finish. The pure wool carpeting is new, as are the hood and tonneau cover, both crafted from Alpaca cloth. The result is a carefully restored Jaguar XK 150 roadster, combining quintessential British refinement with an exceptionally elegant presentation and a number of features designed to enhance its usability.
Ready to take to the road, it now awaits its next owner to begin a new chapter in its history, embarking on journeys wherever the road may lead.
