The Jaguar E-Type is an icon of British motoring, renowned for its elegant design and exceptional performance. Introduced in 1961, it revolutionized the sports car market with its long, sleek hood and flowing lines, inspired by racing cars. Its XK inline six-cylinder engine produced 265 hp in the 3.8 L versions, allowing a top speed of over 240 km/h. Independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes made the E-Type very agile and safe for its time. Produced as both a coupe and a roadster, it combined luxury and sportiness, featuring a refined leather interior and chrome instruments. The E-Type was quickly praised for its value for money and its ability to compete with much more expensive cars. It became a symbol of the Swinging London era and inspired generations of car designers. Despite its limited production, it remains highly sought after by collectors and commands high prices at auction. Jaguar continued to improve the car until 1975, with 4.2 L engines and safety upgrades. Today, the E-Type is considered one of the most beautiful sports cars ever made, combining aesthetics, performance, and history.
This car was originally delivered new in New York in March 1964. It remained in the United States until 2014, where it was kept in running condition. It was then sold to Belgium, where it underwent a full restoration. During 2025, extensive work was carried out at the request of its meticulous owner: the body was refreshed with a beautiful poly-luster finish, Big Bore exhaust manifolds were installed, and a major mechanical overhaul was performed including removal of the differential, replacement of wheel bearings, seals and gaskets, universal joints and half-shafts, differential output bearings, brake master cylinders, and more. This car is in remarkable condition and drives perfectly, with smooth handling and a pleasant gearbox. It is ready to take to the road with no expenses required.
