The Chevrolet Corvette C2, produced from 1963 to 1967, is one of the most iconic generations of the famous American sports car. Nicknamed the “Sting Ray,” it marked a major stylistic break from the first generation (C1). Its bold design, created by Bill Mitchell and inspired by the Mako Shark concept car, gave it an aggressive and futuristic look for its time. Under the hood, the C2 offered several powerful V8 engines, including the legendary 427 cubic inch unit at the end of its production run. It was also the first Corvette to adopt an independent rear suspension, significantly improving handling.
Historically, the C2 emerged during the golden age of muscle cars in the United States. It symbolized the growing strength of the American automotive industry in competition with European sports cars. The Corvette C2 also distinguished itself in competition, notably at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in SCCA racing. Today, it remains an icon highly sought after by collectors for its unique styling and historical significance.
We have the privilege of offering for sale an absolutely exceptional 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2. This is a genuine “Split Window” model, the legendary version produced only for the 1963 model year. This split rear window configuration is now one of the most desirable among collectors worldwide. The example we present is also a rare “Fuelie” version, equipped with Rochester mechanical fuel injection. This extremely exclusive option in 1963 made the Corvette one of the most high-performing American sports cars of its time. Produced in limited numbers, the Split Window Fuel Injection represents a particularly rare and highly sought-after combination.
The car has undergone a complete restoration, documented in the finest detail. The file includes a precise history as well as all invoices and reports related to the work carried out. The restoration was entrusted to Corvette Mike, an essential reference in the Corvette world in the United States. Every component was restored in strict accordance with original specifications. The quality of execution reflects a level of excellence worthy of the finest concours d’elegance. The car was also certified “Top Flight” by the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society). It achieved an outstanding score of 97/100, highlighting its authenticity and accuracy. Such a distinction confirms the exceptional nature of this example.
We also have photographs taken when the vehicle was discovered prior to restoration. These images highlight the authenticity of the original foundation. Detailed photographs of every stage of the restoration are also available, attesting to the meticulous care devoted to each component. The bodywork, mechanical components, and interior are now presented in near-new condition. The fuel-injected engine runs with precision and delivers the full character and nobility of its V8. The overall presentation reflects a concours-level restoration. This example represents a unique opportunity for any discerning collector.
