The Jaguar E-Type Series 1/2 4.2L presented here embodies the ultimate elegance of British grand touring. This example has undergone a complete restoration carried out by Atelier des Coteaux, renowned for the quality of its craftsmanship. The bodywork was fully disassembled, straightened, and aligned with remarkable precision. Each panel was meticulously prepared to achieve perfectly clean lines. The car then received its new Gun Metal finish, applied using a high-end process to ensure depth and uniformity. All chrome components were renovated or replaced to regain their original shine.
Under the bonnet, the 4.2L engine was completely rebuilt after a full teardown. All mechanical parts were inspected, restored, or replaced in accordance with original specifications. The gearbox also underwent a total overhaul to ensure smoothness and precision. The cooling system and all related components were renewed to guarantee optimal reliability. The running gear, suspension, and brakes were restored to provide impeccable road holding. The steering was revised to recover the authentic feel characteristic of the Series 1.
The interior received equally meticulous attention, with fully redone upholstery. The leather, carpets, and trim were recreated using materials faithful to the original. The dashboard was restored along with its period-correct, fully functional instruments. The wooden steering wheel and interior details highlight the model’s classic charm. Each element contributes to recreating the unique atmosphere of a 1960s E-Type. The alignment of doors, bonnets, and windows was refined to ensure flawless presentation.
Thanks to this complete restoration by Atelier des Coteaux, the car is now in outstanding condition. It offers the prestige, finesse, and character of an icon enhanced by exceptional craftsmanship.
