Jaguar XK140 OTS

The XK 140 succeeded the XK 120, incorporating a series of improvements based on feedback from customers, distributors, dealers, and the automotive press. As a result, the model became more modern and refined. Introduced in 1954, the year production began, the XK 140 was offered in three body styles: roadster, coupé, and convertible. The roadster retained the spirit and defining features that made the XK 120 so successful, with the two models being more closely related than the coupé and convertible versions across the 120 and 140 ranges.
The example presented here is a Jaguar XK 140 roadster delivered new to the United States in 1955. It was imported into France in 2011 by its previous owner and underwent a complete restoration between 2014 and 2018. The body was fully stripped, repaired, and refinished in its original Birch Grey color. The engine was also entirely rebuilt, including cylinder head resurfacing and the replacement of valve guides and seats.
From a technical standpoint, the original rear drum brakes were restored, while the front was upgraded with new solid disc brakes and four-piston calipers. Electric power steering was also installed during the restoration to improve driving comfort. The interior was fully refurbished with red leather upholstery in keeping with the original specification, complemented by a red alpaca soft top. Equipment includes a Moto-Lita steering wheel, chrome wire wheels, Lucas auxiliary driving lamps, a stainless steel exhaust system, a radio, and a battery cut-off switch.
